September meeting and events set to take the green flag by Jim Gandy at 12:49 pm, Sep 1
September is going to be another busy month for Reno Region, as we pack as much driving excitement as we can into what's left of our 2008 season.

But before we hit the gas, remember we've got a club meeting coming up this Wednesday, Sept. 3rd. It'll be at Austin's Restaurant, 7671 S. Virginia St., and the general membership meeting will start at 6:45. As always, non-members are welcome at our meetings, and you're invited to order and enjoy dinner while the meeting goes on. We'll be reviewing our August Solo and Track events, hearing about how our members did at other events, cheering the winners and sympathizing with the losers, and looking ahead to the great events still to come. As usual, the region's Board of Directors will be meeting at Austin's at 5:45.

Our Solo-oriented members probably all know by now about the events that will happen this coming weekend, Sept. 6-7, out at Derby Airfield near Lovelock. Whether you choose to commute the 80 miles on I-80 or stay overnight in Lovelock, these events are always a fast and fun highlight of our season. Event chairs Randy Jones and Jim Uchytil have planned a potluck for Saturday evening at the site -- the main dish, chili, will be provided, and everybody is encouraged to bring whatever they can. For more, check the information that's been posted on our forum.

And, a reminder to our Track Events enthusiasts: the NORPAC Division Time Trials Championships are just a few weeks away. We'll take over Reno-Fernley Raceway on Sept. 27-28 for two full days of high-speed fun that you won't want to miss. Be sure to register early -- more information and a link to the registration website is on this website and our forum.

We'll see you at our monthly meeting on Wednesday Sept. 3rd, Lovelock on the 6th and 7th, and Reno-Fernley Raceway at the end of the month!

August 16-17 Solo Events to be at Reno-Fernley Raceway by Jim Gandy at 10:44 am, Aug 12
Please pass the word to those who haven't heard -- our Solo events August 16 and 17 will be at Reno-Fernley Raceway! It's been on the front page of our web site for two weeks, but we're still getting questions, even from people who've been on our website but somehow missed it. The events will run just like our events at Stead -- same format, same schedule, just a different location. Once you get to Reno-Fernley's road course paddock area, you may have a short wait before you can drive to our site -- so, plan to arrive early. There's a lengthier explanation on our website forum. But the key thing is, just allow a some extra time and you'll be fine. Showing up late will make things tough on you and on everybody.
Monthly Club Meetings set for Wednesday, August 6th by Jim Gandy at 2:49 pm, Aug 4
Come in out of the heat and join us at our monthly regional meetings, Wednesday August 6th, at Austin's Restaurant, 7671 S. Virginia in Reno. The Board of Directors meeting starts at 5:45, and the regular meeting is at 6:45. You can order dinner while the meetings go on, and non-members are always welcome. We'll be swapping tales from recent events, and there's still plenty of action left in our competition season, starting with a Track Event and a Solo weekend at Reno-Fernley Raceway this month. So, come to the meeting and get all the details!
